How do I set a static IP address?

Most routers use DHCP to automatically assign an IP address to your TinyPilot. Under DHCP, TinyPilot receives whatever IP address the router has available, and this IP address may change.

In some cases, it's helpful to configure your TinyPilot with a static IP address. A static IP address does not change, even if you reboot your TinyPilot or your router.

Setting a static IP address

To set a static IP address, navigate to the Static IP dialog by going to System > Networking > Static IP.

Navigate to the Static IP dialog in TinyPilot's web interface to set a static IP address.

In the Static IP dialog, select your desired network interface from the drop-down - this is the interface your new static IP address will apply to. Enter your desired static IP address, your netmask, and your router's IP address, then click "Apply Static IP."

Set your desired static IP

Note: Only one network interface can hold a static IP at any given time. Setting a static IP on a different interface automatically clears the previous static IP configuration.

Removing a static IP address

To remove a static IP address, navigate to the Static IP menu, select your desired network interface, and click "Remove Static IP."
